ON THE COVER: by Josh Guge - Gilberts, Illinois
This beautiful reef fish carving,featuring a king angel fish, a pair of scythe-marked butterflyfish, and a trunk fish(other side of carving), won the coveted honor of Judge's Best of Show Fish Carving at the 2009 World Fish Carving Championships. The gifted carver was Josh Guge of Gilberts, Illinois. Josh was the winner of two Best in World titles: Decorative Lifesize Fish and Decorative Miniature Fish. In addition, Josh won a Second in World Decorative Lifesize with his queen angelfish featured in this issue's Gallery of Wildlife Art. Josh is a third generation wood sculptor, born into a family of very talented artists. His grandfather Roy Guge, started the tradition carving hunting decoys, and his father Bob Guge, continued the art and became a five-time World Champion bird carver.
