Issue 58, Winter 1999

ABOUT THE COVER

The beautiful wood duck on this cover was mounted by Kevin Hynes of Slidell, Louisiana. It received Best in World Waterfowl at the 1999 World Taxidermy Championships. Kevin had four entries in the Master Division waterfowl (puddle ducks) category, and received the four highest scores in the category: 96, 95.5, 94 and 93.5, quite an accomplishment. Also with a wood duck, Kevin won North American Champion at the 1998 NTA competition. The entry was the highest scoring entry in the show, scoring a 99. Kevin is now known as "Mr. Wood Duck."
