by Wendy Christenson Senk - Mukwonago, Wisconsin

Wendy Christenson-Senks re-creation of a lowland gorilla won the top honors during the 2009 World Taxidermy Championships R in St. Charles, Missouri. Her re-creation won Best in World and Judges' Choice Best of Show. Her re-creation was completed for the Milwaukee Public Museum, honoring the famous gorilla "Samson". Samson once reigned as the most popular attraction at the Milwaukee Country Zoo from 1950 to 1981. Samson now has his own place of honor in an exhibit, "Samson Remembered," at the Milwaukee Public Museum - thanks to the extraordinary talents of Wendy.
