Mountain Lion by Phil Soucy
When you go to a western taxidermy competition you always see a super display of western big game. This year s National Taxidermists Association annual convention in Billings, Montana, provided just that. Many of the outstanding entries are featured in this issue. This mountain lion by Phil Soucy of Libby, Montana, earned Phil the title of North American Champion for Large Mammal, along with a host of other awards, including the Moyle Mink and Tannery Lifesize Mammal Award, Taxidermists Choice Best Lifesize Mammal, and People s Choice Best Taxidermy Entry. Phil s techniques for big cats will be featured at the upcoming World Taxidermy Championships in a seminar on Tuesday night, April 17, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Reno, Nevada.
