FALL ISSUE #155
On The Cover: Shep Brown, Kent and Valerie Reedy
This cover displays the art work that captured everyone’s attention at the 2024 WTC—a true show stopper. This is the first snake to be featured on the cover of Breakthrough. The composition, a rattlesnake and a red-tailed hawk, was produced by 3 past World Champions: Shep Brown; and husband-and-wife team Kent and Val Reedy. This was Kent’s and Val’s second World Title in this division. Shep won a World title in 1997 in Reproductions and Kent Reedy won his first World Title in 1987 with a Richardson’s goose, which went on to win Judges’ Choice Best of Show, the highest award earned at the World Taxidermy Championships®. Kent and Val won their first Best in World Collective Artists in 2013 with their wood duck composition that also graced our cover in Issue 110. Congratulations to all three for producing the top award-winner in this very competitive division. This issue features all 21 entries in the World Collective Artists division.
