A message from World Show Chairman Larry Blomquist: World Taxidermy and Fish Carving Championships® Rescheduled for August 24-28, 2021

If there is one thing we have learned from the Corona virus pandemic, it is that drastic changes in our lives have and will continue to occur. For how long who knows, but the writing was on the wall last March and April that 12 months minimum and 18 months probable were likely before normalcy would return. I researched all the sites available that I thought were honest and unbiased and it looked more and more like April 2021 was a gamble that I did not want to take. I put on hold my planning, and the more time passed I could see a change from April to August was necessary and much safer for all of us. I did not at all want a show that mandated masks and social distancing with our attendees, which have numbered over 1,000. I still held out hope April would work, but in reality it was time to make the decision, which I did in early October but could not make an official announcement until all dates and contracts for the venue were in hand. We can now announce that the World Taxidermy and Fish Carving Championships® will be held August 24-28, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri, with the University Plaza Hotel and Springfield Expo Center as our hosts and venue. We will begin contacting vendors for the trade show as soon as this issue goes to press, and show registrations and hotel reservations will begin around February or early March 2021. We have all experienced a long spring and summer without the shows and competitions we were accustomed too. We pray that the future is brighter and healthier than 2020 for you and all of our taxidermy associations and invite you to attend the World Show next August.
